What are the risks associated with fertility treatment?

How do we know if we need fertility treatment?
There are various indications which need fertility treatments. Few of them are:
- Irregular menstrual cycles or absence of menstruation (primary/secondary amenorrhoea).
- Heavy or scanty menstrual flow

Are fertility treatments painful?
Apart from some discomfort caused due to injections, fertility treatments are not painful. IVF Procedures such an egg retrieval (ovum pick up-OPU) are performed under anaesthesia, hence you will not feel any pain during the procedure. Recovery from anaesthesia is faster due to short acting medications used for this procedure.
Are fertility treatments safe for my baby?
Fertility treatments do not pose any increased risk of birth defects for the baby. Risk of abnormalities, miscarriages is same as in natural pregnancy for that age.
How do I know which fertility treatment is best for me?
