Fertility Preservation

For women who wish to defer their marriage/child bearing or women battling cancer/ autoimmune diseases which would require chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy, fertility preservation comes as a boon. It can also be done for various social reasons. For such women, fertility preservation gives another chance to achieve their dream of motherhood at a later age. To support this, we offer:

  • Oocyte Cryopreservation: Oocyte cryopreservation refers to the freezing of eggs (oocytes) following stimulation with gonadotropin injections and retrieval from the ovaries in order to preserve them. Freezing 15-20 oocytes is ideal for most females in order to achieve a good pregnancy outcome in future. It is usually advised for unmarried girls who wish to postpone marriage & pregnancy for personal reasons or for those who suffer from malignancy/autoimmune diseases which warrants chemo/radiation therapy.

  • Embryo Cryopreservation: In this procedure, Embryos resulting from IVF/ICSI are cryopreserved for future use. This is usually advised for married women who wish to postpone pregnancy for social or medical reasons.
  • Semen Cryopreservation: As part of fertility preservation, it is recommended for unmarried men or husbands who need to undergo chemotherapy, radiation therapy or a radical surgery which involves testes or scrotum and is likely to compromise testicular function.
